Role Overview and Expectations:

We seek a qualified engineer (BEng minimum) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Heat Networks (HN), prioritising operational optimisation over design. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing installer-to-maintainer handovers, troubleshooting, and addressing legacy issues.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the Company adheres to “Good Industry Practice” (GIP) standards as a Heat Network Operator, in line with industry codes and guidelines.
  • Conducting HN performance reviews, optimisation, and energy balance reporting, with a focus on CHP performance and environmental impacts.
  • Complying with industry standards such as PAS55, BSRIA Guide BG3, CIBSE CP1, CIBSE Guide M, and SFG 20.
  • Conducting energy forensics, tracking energy usage, and facilitating tariff calculations and customer reporting.
  • Engaging with stakeholders including Developers, Clients, and Managing Agents to evaluate HN performance and discuss strategic plant replacement plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations 2014 and relevant amendments, and overseeing water treatment regimes.
  • Supervising Heat and Cooling Network Acceptance Testing (handover from developer to Managing Agent)

 

Projects You’ll Be Involved In:

  • District Energy Feasibility and Detailed Project Development
  • Identifying, exploring, and commercialising district energy network opportunities for various residentially managed buildings
  • Deploying innovative solutions encompassing district heating, district cooling, and renewable technologies.
  • Completion of OPPS notifications and feasibility assessments.
  • HNES applications

 

To Apply: 

  • You must be living and authorised to work in the UK to apply for this position.
  • MEng / BEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • CEng status would be beneficial
  • Driving license

Pay: £65,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
