Heat Metering is a new technology that will play an increasing part in our use of energy. We are all familiar with gas and electricity meters that have traditionally recorded the energy we use within our homes; now a heat meter measures the heat we typically use with a district or community heating scheme.
It allows for the accurate measurement of energy, in the form of kilowatt hours (kWh), and records the amount of heat that is taken out or put into a system. As with all sophisticated pieces of metering equipment, it is very sensitive.
Our engineers are specially trained by the leading metering manufacturers to be able to inspect and test these devices to ensure their correct operation. These units will usually be part of a larger installation connected back to a data logger, ensuring that information can be accurately gathered.
