Data Energy Management Services is a reputable organisation specialising in comprehensive energy solutions for Managing Agents, covering heat, gas, electricity, water, and renewables.

One of our main services involves metering and billing solutions; calculating and issuing energy (typically heat) bills to residents and providing customer support. We are currently seeking a Customer Service Adviser to join our team.

As a Customer Care and Credit Account Administrator, the primary purpose is to manage and oversee customer billing queries and credit-related functions within the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have a deep practical understanding of heat networks, strong analytical and project management skills, and the ability to mentor and train engineers with varying levels of experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the Company delivers responsibilities in line with “Good Industry Practice” (GIP) as a Heat Network Operator and Maintenance Contractor, as outlined in CIBSE Heat Networks: Code of Practice for the UK CP1 2020.
  • Conduct Heat Network Optimisation Studies, to include a detailed analysis of the system with the aim of improving the efficiency and performance.
  • Perform meter feasibility assessments and evaluate the technical and financial viability of heat network projects, providing recommendations based on findings.
  • Complete Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES) applications on behalf of clients, ensuring all necessary documentation and data are provided.
  • Prepare and submit heat network notification forms to the relevant regulatory bodies on behalf of the Heat Supplier (who are generally the landlord, freeholder, residents’ management company acting by a managing agent).
  • Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to office staff, helping them understand heat network systems, regulatory requirements, and troubleshooting any related issues.
  • Ensure Company compliance and awareness of legislative requirements under typically, but not limited to the Health and Safety Act, Building Safety Act and Energy Act.
  • Work in accordance with industry standards, including PAS55, BSRIA Guide BG3, CIBSE CP1, CIBSE Guide M, and SFG20 and any successors.
  • Perform “energy forensics” and track energy consumption to ensure accurate data analysis and reporting.
  • Calculate heat, cooling and other utility tariffs, both retrospectively and budgetary; provide client reporting on system performance.
  • Attend meetings with Developers, Clients, Managing Agents, and other stakeholders to review and discuss HN performance.
  • Develop and define strategies for ongoing plant replacement and system improvement, ensuring full justification for upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with the Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations 2014 and its amendments.
  • Oversee water treatment regimes to maintain system integrity.
  • Manage Heat and Cooling Network Acceptance Testing, facilitating the handover from Developer to Managing Agent.
  • Provide ongoing training and knowledge transfer to the broader engineering team, ensuring they are up to date on best practices, performance optimisation, and compliance requirements for Heat Networks.
  • Act as a knowledge resource, identifying and addressing areas where the team lacks expertise in heat network systems.
  • Work closely with other departments to support the company’s growth in the heat network industry.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in the heat network sector and integrate best practices into the company’s operations.
  • Actively join industry forums on policy consultation and direction. Promoting the Company’s/Group commitment to enhancing stakeholder experience.
