Mobile Support & Metering Technician

This role is to install, maintain and audit data collection equipment & infrastructure. Supporting Data Energy’s UK operated heat network billing platform.

Working individually and assisting electrically qualified staff. Delivering energy monitoring and billing solutions across the UK.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Metering Engineer to install and maintain smart metering and data collection equipment across residential, commercial, and occasional building sites. This role involves equipment testing, auditing, and accurate data recording while using industry-specific tools and IT systems daily. As a customer-facing position, strong communication skills are essential.

  • Salary: £25k – £28k
  • Job Location: London & UK
  • Hours per week: 40 Monday to Friday
  • Start Time: 8am (on site)
  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Reporting to: Engineering Manager
  • Occasional UK travel/ overnight stays required
  • Primarily Residential/ commercial site work
  • Some building site work

Key Responsibilities, Overview and Expectations:

    As a mobile Support and Metering Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

    • Understanding different types of metering equipment
    • Installation of data collection equipment
    • Installation of smart metering equipment
    • Customer facing & communication
    • Equipment testing and auditing
    • Accurate recording of information and results
    • Using I.T and industry specific equipment daily

    About You:

    We’re looking for someone who is or has:

      • Ideally some tooling and cabling experience.
      • Site work (CSCS labourer) desirable.
      • Working individually or as part of a team.
      • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and customers.
      • A desire to gain knowledge and develop skills to improve your work performance.
