We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Trainee Energy Manager to join our team and manage a portfolio of clients, helping them optimise their energy use while providing exceptional service.

From finding lost meters to resident-level billing and even Combined Heat & Power (CHP) generation, we’ve got it all covered.

  • Salary: £24k – £28k

  • Job Location: Bishops Stortford (Head Office)
  • Hours: 8:30am to 5.00pm
  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Reporting to: Senior Energy Manager

Key Responsibilities, Overview and Expectations:

    As an Energy Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

    • Client Management:
      • Be the primary point of contact for new and existing clients, providing accurate and timely updates via phone, email, and post.
      • Build and maintain strong client relationships, proactively seeking ways to reduce their energy costs and enhance their experience.

      Energy Optimisation:

      • Audit invoices, analyse energy consumption, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
      • Prepare competitive quotations, reports, and recommendations for clients.
      • Compile utility budgets and costs for energy conservation measures.

      Supplier Liaison:

      • Work with suppliers to obtain quotations, resolve invoicing queries, and coordinate contract renewals.

      Team Collaboration:

      • Work closely with internal departments, including technical staff, to ensure seamless project execution and service delivery.
      • Participate actively in marketing initiatives and company discussions around product and business development.
      • Administrative Excellence:
        • Maintain detailed records of client communications, contracts, and tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
        • Support day-to-day operations, including administration, sales, and customer service.

        Proactive Growth:

        • Actively promote the company’s mission, values, and services on social media and other platforms.
        • Seek opportunities to forge new partnerships and acquire new clients.

    About You:

    We’re looking for someone who is or has:

      • Energy Experience: Previous experience in energy brokerage, commercial energy supply, or account management is advantageous.
      • Organisational Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple clients and tasks efficiently.
      • Customer Focus: Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
      • Numeracy and Analytical Skills: Ability to audit energy costs, analyze consumption, and propose cost-saving strategies.
      • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
      • Proactive Mindset: Self-motivated and proactive, always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.
      • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using digital tools and platforms to manage accounts, perform analyses, and communicate with clients.
      • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.

      Experience: 

      • Administrative: 1 year (required)
      • Commercial energy: 1 year (preferred)
      • Energy procurement: 1 year (preferred)
