Aberfeldy Village – Case Study
In a prime location on East India Dock Road, Aberfeldy Village is the transformation of a historic seven-acre site into a superb new community in East London by Poplar Harca and Prime Place (Willmott Dixon). When complete, there will be more than 1,000 homes together with a range of facilities including a community centre, health centre, retail space and a new public square. Designed by award-winning architects Levitt Bernstein, the apartments have an excellent specification, with terraces or balconies, offering sweeping views across Canary Wharf and the River Thames from the upper floors
The first homes were occupied in late 2014 and the works continue. Lighterman Point, the main building featured here is now fully occupied.
Our role was to implement a complex metering and billing strategy to allow for the recharge of heat supplied to the tenants. Working with the contractors towards the occupation point, we undertook extensive testing of the heat metering installation and the data logging processes to allow tenant level quarterly billing to be introduced.
We are currently billing over 300 flats and this is due to increase to over 500 by mid-2017. Data is collected on a quarterly basis, or as required via our network for regular billing and reporting. Collecting payments via direct debit, BACS and credit card has allowed the Managing Agent to concentrate on other key aspects of property management.
