Recently, our very own Chairman, John Baker, took on the challenge of completing a half marathon for charity. His chosen cause was the David Nott Foundation, an organisation that plays a vital role in helping civilians caught in conflict zones.
The Foundation, led by the extraordinary war surgeon David Nott, trains surgeons to perform life-saving operations on civilians in areas affected by war, including Ukraine, Gaza, Syria and other regions of conflict.
John spent the summer preparing for this demanding run, dedicating his time and energy to getting fit. His efforts paid off as he completed the 13.1 miles in an impressive 2 hours and 4 minutes, keeping up an average pace of 10km/hour!
We are proud to have supported John’s efforts, and with the generosity of sponsors, he has raised over £3,000 for the David Nott Foundation. This donation will go directly towards helping train medical professionals who can provide essential surgical care in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
