Data Energy has been established over 30 years and is an award-winning provider of metering and billing services. Your building owner has specifically appointed us to bill for your heating (and/or cooling) consumption and, in this case, carry out meter replacements. 

Our team of energy managers, engineers, and technical consultants are here to provide these services to your building owner, whilst our customer care team is here to help with your billing queries.

Why do I need to change my meter?

Many of the existing meters have reached their end-of-life or soon will be. Some have already malfunctioned, which means estimated bills have been used. This isn’t ideal, particularly as energy costs have dramatically increased.

What are the benefits?

Paying for heating based on an estimated bill will mean you’re either under paying or over-paying. Both options are not ideal, so by installing a new meter you’ll only pay for your usage and won’t receive any surprise bills.

How quickly can I get my meter installed?

You can select the Priority service when making your booking and it will be arranged as quickly as possible based on available dates. For our Standard service, we will be in touch via email to propose a date. If you can be available on this day, you can confirm attendance by clicking the supplied link.

Will I be able to select an installation date?

A date will be proposed via an email we will send out. If you are able to attend this date, you will be able to confirm attendance by clicking a link. The times for this install will be anytime between 8am to 3pm

How long will the meter last?

The heat meters have a life span of approximately 10-12 years.

How can I pay for my new meter installation?

When making your booking, the process will take you through to a payment gateway to process the payment where payment can be made securely online via a credit or debit card.

What are the costs?

Standard Service

The Standard service is designed for residents who don’t have a time sensitive requirement and are happy be part of a bulk replacement process. This means a minimum of 3 orders are needed to activate the multiple meter installation and this helps keep costs down.

Once the minimum threshold of 3 replacements has been achieved, Data Energy will initiate the procurement and assess available dates and times to conduct the replacements. You will receive an email containing a link to confirm your availability for an appointment. Once all appointment slots have been confirmed, our engineers will attend the site replacing your heat meter.

Priority Service

Priority service is for residents who wish to have their heat meter replaced as a priority. This option will allow Data Energy to immediately start the process of ordering your replacement. You will receive an email containing a link to confirm your availability for an appointment and once the this has been confirmed our engineers will attend and take care of replacing your heat meter.

Terms & Conditions

  • 1) Upon registration, a quote with a payment portal will be sent to you via email. Kindly make full payment using the provided portal. Once payment is received, Data Energy Management Services will contact you based on the service option chosen.
  • 2) Installation dates are subject to availability, and once a suitable date is identified, all interested parties will be notified accordingly.
  • 3) Standard service appointments are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Appointment bookings will be done via booking link.
  • 4) Priority service appointments will be arranged individually, with available dates communicated via email.
  • 5) To facilitate the exchange of your heat meter, our engineers will need full access to your apartment. Failure to provide access may result in appointment cancellation, with a charge incurred for rescheduling.
  • 6) New appointment charges are as follows:
    – Standard service: £303.60 + VAT = £364.32
    – Priority service: £593.60 + VAT = £712.32
  • 7) Any cancellations must be communicated via email to technical@dataenergy.co.uk. Late cancellations within 10 working days will result in a charge. See New appointment charges above (6).
  • 8) Access to the Heat Interface Unit (HIU) is essential for the exchange process. Please ensure all personal items are removed from the area prior to the engineers’ arrival to avoid appointment cancellation and additional charges.
  • 9) Data Energy Management Services cannot be held responsible for any damages to personal belongings left in the work area.
  • 10) Please be advised that the availability of the Heat Meter is contingent upon supplier confirmation post-installation, heat meters will only be order when required.
  • 11) Data Energy Management Service is solely responsible for the exchange of your heat meter. Any other concerns regarding your HIU should be directed to your Letting Agent or Management Agent.
